Windsong Cares Foundation Inc

The Windsong Cares Foundation is dedicated to the health and well-being of our fellow WNYers. Focused on reducing mortality from cancer in our region, we raise awareness on the importance of screening to save lives, provide breast cancer patient education, and fund research. However, this year during Give 716, we are highlighting and raising funds for one very meaningful activity in particular, our Comfort Blanket Program.

This initiative resonates deeply with our donors because it is an opportunity to give direct support to individual breast cancer patients. At bi-monthly classes offered at Windsong in Williamsville, breast cancer patients learn what to expect and how to manage before, during, and after their surgeries, ranging from lumpectomies to mastectomies. These women understandably feel anxious about the unknowns and are often overwhelmed by the journeys ahead, balancing continued treatment, families, jobs, homes, and finances.

To offer encouragement, each patient receives a soft, gift-wrapped fleece blanket from our donors. Practically, these blankets offer warmth and comfort during continued treatment and recovery, but the connection made between patients and a loving donor community inspires HOPE.
